AMX Configurer: Reconfigured
AMX Configurer was an application on Sourceforge.net that I had worked on with another programmer named Jarred Beck. AMX Configurer was described on the project page as "a program that is designed to allow people to configure their Counter Strike servers with AMX installed."AMX Configurer had the following features (taken from http://amxconfig.sourceforge.net):
1. Configure plugins.ini based on what you have in your folder.Although quite popular on the Web, Jarred, Project Leader, decided last year to abandon the project. Jarred said that he was on to "bigger and better things." Jarred is currently working on Project Freedom, an open source First Person Shooter.
2. Has all commands in the main config files built in for the user to customise the value of (eg. user can choose the value of "amx_freq_imessage").
3. Configure the user permissions whether they be in users.ini or in the main config file.
I (the programmer listed with the alias "VM" under the project's "Members" page) think AMX Configurer can be enhanced. So, after several months, I decided to try to "reconfigure the Configurer" by continuing development on AMX Configurer.
I am currently transcoding everything from Visual BASIC 6 to Visual BASIC 2008 (.NET), improving the interface, reorganizing the menus, adding features and completing incomplete ones. I will also be fixing bugs, and rewriting parts of the code in a more OOP friendly way. I have decided to , appropriately, rename the utility AMX Configurer.NET.
AMX Configurer.NET will be released under its original license, The GNU General Public License (GPL) .
I will have screen shots up soon, and will update everyone on it's progress.
